Betty Jane Hinnershitz

November 20, 1929 - September 19, 2017

Betty Jane Hinnershitz passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at her home in Preston surrounded by her family. She was 87. She was born on November 20, 1929 in Reading, PA, the daughter of the late Clifford Heckman and Mildred Ida Ulrich Heckman. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Preston where she served in the choir. She was a former member of the Blandon Fire Department in Blandon, PA. Betty worked in the cafeteria at Colonel Richardson High School for twenty years until her retirement in 1992. She will always be remembered as a wonderful mother and friend. She is survived by her five children; Jeffrey Hinnershitz, Janine Mastronardi and her husband, Joe, Brian Hinnershitz and his wife, Ruby, all of Preston, Bruce Hinnershitz and his wife Annette of Hurlock, Michele Meyers and her husband John of Florida, eight grandchildren: Josh Wright, Daniel Mastronardi Jr., Beth Mastronardi, Hunter Mastronardi, Brian Hinnershitz Jr., Jessica Hinnershitz, Amanda Hinnershitz, Matt Wahl, 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandson, Christopher Wahl and Jeremy Wahl, and a sister, Lubelle, Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Interment will follow at Belmont Cemetery in Choptank.
