Charles Erwin Wieand

Charles E. Wieand of Easton, died at Candle Light Cove in Easton on Monday December 21, 2020. He was 88. Born in Spinnerstown PA, on April 4, 1932 he was adopted as a child by Wilbur and Rosetta Ockenhause Wieand. Charles grew up in Dundalk, and graduated from Dundalk High School. Following his graduation he enlisted in the Navy serving as a Machinist Mate for four years. After his release from active duty he married Norma Lea Balliet on April 10, 1954. After his retirement he and his family moved to St. Michaels. His beloved wife Norma died in 2017. Mr. Wieand enjoyed Ham Radio operating, was a member of the Dorchester Gun Club, watching shotgun sports and wood working. He was a fine craftsman of wood working. Mr. Wieand is survived by two children; Sandra Wieand of Easton, and Carla Lake (George) of Dundalk, MD, three grandchildren; Shawn Clark of Royal Oak,MD, Erin Clark of Lacrosse, WI and Madison Lake of Frostburg, MD, four great-grandchildren; Diedra, Lorilee, Walter, and Kaylie and his beloved lab, Emma. In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Russell and Howard Wieand and one sister; Alverda Fedorowicz. A graveside service at Olivet Cemetery, St. Michaels, will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 28, 2020. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, Md. 21601.
