Dorothy Elizabeth Walker

October 7, 1926 - March 24, 2022

Dorothy Elizabeth Pinkett Walker, better known as Dot, daughter of the late James Spry, Daisy Pinkett Cornish and step-daughter to the late John W. Cornish, Sr., was born October 7, 1926 and departed her earthly life on March 24, 2022 at Signature Health Care at Mallard Bay in Cambridge, Maryland. Dot was educated in the Dorchester County School Systems. Dorothy worked at various jobs throughout Dorchester County including domestic housekeeping and a personal care provider for families who deeply cared and loved her as she did them. She was gainfully employed by John Wright Cannery and DeCecco Cannery. She loved children and was a dependable babysitter for many of her immediate family's children. She married that tall southern man from Columbia, Alabama in 1968, James Hollywood Walker and remained united until his death in 2000. Dorothy joined Wallace Temple A.M.E. Zion Church in Rhodesdale, MD at an early age where she served as an usher and in the culinary department until her health began to fail. Dot was preceded in death by her husband, parents and son, Clarence G. Pinkett, Sr., grandsons Carence G. Pinkett, Jr. and Kendall Demby, a great-grandson Tikye D. Pinkett, sisters Betty Spry Johnson and Frances Young, brothers Thomas, Wilson and Freddie Spry. Dorothy leaves behind to cherish fond memories her daughter in law Shirley Pinkett, siblings Margaret Elbert, Delores Cornish and John W. Cornish, Jr., grandchildren Donniel (Leslie), Tyrone (Justine), Michael (Michelle), Carroll Gino Pinkett, Lisa (Johnny) Hite and Marsha Jenkins, eleven great-grandchildren, twenty-four great-great grandchildren, a Goddaughter, Rose Pinkett who she adored, a special dedicated and devoted friend, Valerie Horseman, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
