Gene Alan Griffith, Sr.

Gene Allen Griffith, Sr. of Easton passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022 at the University of Maryland Medical Center at Easton. He was 73. He was born on July 6, 1948 in Seaford, Delaware, the son of the late Willie Griffith and Gladys Sammons Griffith Bennett. He graduated from North Dorchester High School with the class of 1966. He later worked for Continental Canning Company which later became Crown Cork and Seal Co. He retired as a Warehouse Manager after many years of loyal service. In his retirement, he worked at the Federalsburg Coastal Station. Gene loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoyed crossword puzzles, attending car shows, and watching Sci-Fi movies. He attended Park Lane Church of God for many years. He is survived by five children: David Griffith and his wife Sabrina of Hurlock, Gene Griffith Jr. and his wife Tonya of Trappe, William "Billy" Griffith and Misty Griffith both of Cambridge and Crystal Griffith of Easton; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Phyllis Legs and Wanda Steward both of Delaware. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Charlie Griffith. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 5:00 at the Park Lane Church of God in Federalsburg. The Bishop Ray Parsons will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00. Burial will be private.
