May 23, 1946 - February 1, 2021
George A. Hudson, Jr., passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021. As always, his love of over 53 years, Brenda (Patrick) Hudson was by his side at the time of his death. Born in Milford, Delaware, on May 23, 1946, the son of George, Sr., and Irma Hudson and the oldest of two brothers and three sisters. George was always larger than life, always there to lend a hand and to care for many. George was an innovator as a frozen seafood broker and a founding partner in several logistics firms, most recently Pyramid Transport in Bridgeville, Delaware. George worked hard for his family and his employees, proud to provide for them the careers and companies he built. Together since they were 15, George and Brenda built a loving and lovely home on the family farm in Federalsburg. He loved manicuring his exceptional lawn and was so proud of his bountiful garden, working tirelessly on his tomato plants, turnips, and especially canning his delightful beets. After his routine breakfast with the “Breakfast Crew,” you could find George on his tractor, keeping the wood roads clear or on his favorite lawn mower, leaving not a blade of grass untouched. His only enemies were weeds or pesky critters in his garden. He excelled at everything; in fact, the one and only time he played golf, he scored a hole in one. He was passionately involved with his grandchildren. “Grandad” was so proud of them and all their accomplishments. Though his health would prove a challenge, he did his best to attend every game and event, proudly wearing his University of Alabama, Alvernia University, or Colonel Richardson gear. George leaves behind his wife Brenda, daughter Julie (Brian) of Preston, son Brad (Michelle) of Millsboro, his amazing grandchildren, Jayna (Dallas, TX), Devan (Alvernia University, Reading PA), and Will (Preston), his siblings David Hudson, Linda Kerney (Bill), Mary Jo Lyons (Danny), Warren Hudson (Wendy), Patti Hudson, his very dear friend Edward (Beanie) Nepert, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends, all of whom he adored and loved. The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Frampton Funeral Home, Federalsburg, MD on Thursday, February 11th from 4-5pm with a brief service to follow. All preventive Covid-19 Restrictions will be observed. As a long–time member, George’s wishes were that donations to the Harmony UMC Church at PO Box 145, Preston, MD, 21655 be made in lieu of flowers. Services entrusted to the Framptom Funeral Home.
