Glenn Allen Liddell III

Glenn Allen Liddell, III was born in Baltimore, MD on March 22, 1928. He departed this life surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE. He was 89. The son of the late Glenn Allen Liddell, II and Augusta Robinson Liddell, he graduated from Chestertown High School with the class of 1946. Following high school he went to Baltimore, MD to work at the State of Maryland Department of Employment Security – Unemployment Compensation Division, learning data processing, which he did for the rest of his career. He later received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland in College Park, MD. He retired from the State of Maryland Comptrollers, Data Processing Division after 20 years as a programmer specialist. He moved to Federalsburg in 1957 to work as the manager of data processing for Preston Trucking. He served in the United States Navy from November of 1951 to November of 1955 at Great Lakes, MI. He married the love of his life, Virginia Audrey Groves, on September 8, 1948. He was always tinkering with anything that he thought needed to be fixed or improved, such as cars, tube tv, and radios. He enjoyed photography, reading, fishing, boating, going to auctions, and listening to classical music. He was an advocate for Project Read as well as the Federalsburg Historical Society. He also taught AARP adult driving classes. He leaves to cherish his memory a wife, Virginia Liddell, his children, Glenn Allen Liddell IV (Brenda), Mischelle Nalley (John), Sari Vincent (Michael), and Pam Majors (Leon), 12 grandchildren, Jennifer, Glenn V, David, Cathy, Ginny, Kelly, Amy, Tim, Daniel, Ben, Lori, and Tommy, 14 great-grandchildren, a half-sister, Cheryl Marlow, four step-grandchildren, Steven, Nicole, Liza and Jaclyn, many nieces and nephews and friends. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 1:00pm at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg, MD. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6-8pm, as well as on Thursday from 12-1pm prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, MD at 2pm.
