Lloyd O. Worm of Preston passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the University of Maryland Medical System at Dorchester. He was 89. He was born on August 8, 1929 in Easton, Maryland the son of the late Carl Worm and Mary Marine Worm. Growing up on the family farm in Preston, he later graduated from Preston High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1946. He served the American Theater of Operations, stationed in Puerto Rico and was honorably discharged in 1948. He returned home to the family farm which is what he truly enjoyed. He loved to be in the field working and cultivating his crops. An avid sports fan, he loved watching the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens. He enjoyed playing cards with his sons and friends. He is survived by three sons, William Worm and his wife Ruth of Preston, Tony Worm and his wife Jane of Preston, and Mark Worm and his wife Wendy of Monrovia, MD; five grandchildren; Chris Worm and Tony Worm both of Hurlock, Holly White of Baltimore, MD, Cheryl Worm of Preston and Andrew Worm of Easton, MD; ten great grandchildren, two sisters, Marjorie Worm and Doris Worm both of Preston, MD, and one sister in law, Vera Worm of Preston; and his former wife, Ruth Trice Worm of Philadelphia, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, William Worm, Carlton Worm, Earle Worm, James Worm and Betty Ewing. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 12:00 at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery Chapel with the Pastor Bill Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg.
