Ralph Miller

February 3, 1923 - January 14, 2022

Ralph S. Miller (98) of Greenwood, DE, died of congestive heart failure Friday morning, January 14, 2022 just 20 days short of his 99th birthday. Ralph was born to the late Samuel and Mary (Yoder) Miller in Indiana on February 3, 1923. When Ralph was five years old, the family moved to Delaware where he lived the majority of his life. Ralph did short term mission work in Canada and for several years spent some of the winter months in Florida. Ralph loved farming and gardening. He also was a carpenter and mason. In his retirement years he enjoyed working with wood making many different craft items. Ralph was a lifelong member of the Mennonite church. He enjoyed taking time to help others. Ralph was preceded in death by Saloma (Kauffman) Miller and Lois (Landis) Miller, one grandchild, and 9 siblings. He is survived by two brothers: Ira Miller and Glenn Miller both of WVA. He is also survived by his 5 children: John (Barb), Kalona, IA; Robert (Loretta) and Shirley both of Greenwood, DE; Stanley (Carolyn), Sarasota, FL; R. Duane (Elizabeth), Littlefork, MN; 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at Tressler Mennonite Church 13371 Wolf Road, Greenwood, DE at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022 with visitation one hour prior. Friends of the family may pay their respects from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, at Framptom Funeral Home-Fleischauer Chapel 16 W. Market St. Greenwood, DE 19950. Interment will be in St. Johnstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Christian Aid Ministries (a relief organization) PO Box 360, Berlin, OH 44610.
