Gladys F. D'Armi's Obituary
Gladys F. D’Armi of Preston, MD passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009 at her home. She was 69 years old.
She was born Aug. 24, 1940 in Easton, MD, the daughter of the late Aliston and Nola Chambers Framptom. Her husband Robert H. D’Armi preceded her in death on October 22, 1992.
She was a graduate of Preston High School Class of 1958, and had worked in the poultry industry for many years. She was currently secretary at the Cambridge Moose Lodge #1211. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Hurlock where she was a member of the choir and was serving as Church Secretary. She enjoyed spending time with her church family and with her girlfriends, and she really enjoyed being “Mom” to many. She was a lung transplant recipient, and had four additional wonderful years to spend with her family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter Kelli J. D’Armi of Preston, 2 nieces Brenda Marquess of Hurlock, and Toni Trader and her husband Bruce of Bridgeville, DE, great niece Becky Trader of Bridgeville, great nephew Michael Harris, Jr. of Bridgeville, 2 nephews Tim Williams of Federalsburg and Mickey D’Armi and his wife Kathleen of Detroit, MI, a daughter of her heart, Cathy Toomey of Federalsburg, best friend Patsy Dyes of Hurlock and her wonderful Grace Baptist Church Family, the Trader Family and the Dyes/Worrell Families.
Funeral services will be held on Friday Dec. 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. David Talley and Rev. David Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
