A. Jeanette Mowbray's Obituary
A. Jeannette Bennett Mowbray of Delmar, MD, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2017. She was 88 years old.
She was born in Drawbridge, MD on November 16, 1929, the daughter of the late William Franklin Bennett, Sr. and M. Naomi Willin Bennett.
Jeannette graduated from Preston High School in 1946. She worked for the former Excelsior Pearl Works and then Maryland Plastics for over 20 years. She owned her own day care service. Jeannette was a member of St. Andrews Methodist Church and had attended Salisbury Church of the Nazarene. One of her favorite pastimes was going camping with her family.
She is survived by her husband of seventy-one years, Charles Mowbray, Jr. whom she married June 1, 1946, a son, Michael Douglas Mowbray, Sr. and his wife, Sandra of Delmar, DE, 3 grandchildren, April Byrd of Delmar, MD, Michael Mowbray, Jr. of West Ocean City, Brandi Crook of Delmar, DE, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, a brother, William Bennett, Jr. of Preston, and 13 nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, K. Sewell Bennett and a sister, Mary Bradley.
Funeral services for her will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Joel Beiler officiating. Interment will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Framptom Funeral Home, 216 North Main Street, Federalsburg, MD 21632 to help defray funeral costs.
