Agnes Mary "Nancy" Varady's Obituary
Agnes Mary “Nancy” Varady of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Friday, July 17, 2009 at her home. She was 67 years old.
She was born Aug. 19, 1941 in Bronx, NY, the daughter of the late Herman Henry Speed and Agnes Downie Summers Speed.
She was a homemaker and had been employed by the former American Original in Cannon, De and Black & Decker in Easton. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and was devoted to her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her beloved family.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Phillip Robert Varady, Sr. whom she marred on Sept. 5, 1959, five children, Debra Sewell of Federalsburg, Phillip Varady, Jr. of Imperial, CA, John Varady of Glenside, PA, June Varady of Frederick, MD, and Nancy Downie of Boulder, CO; 13 grandchildren, Jessica Craig, Thomas Sewell, Samantha Varady, Matthew Sewell, Heather Varady, Peter Sewell, Nicholas Varady, Ethan Sewell, Andrew Sewell, Ani Varady, Celia Varady, Aydan Downie, and Ella Downie; 2 sisters, Jean Sturla of Boulder City, NV, and Sharon Ewing of Federalsburg, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother James H. Speed, Sr.
Inurnment will be private.
