Alberta Ann Rankins' Obituary
ALBERTA ANN RANKINS, “Harriett” 65 , of Salisbury died Monday, November 10, 2009 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was born in Dorchester County on June 30, 1944 by the hands of her maternal grandmother, Mary Ellen Johnson to the late Mary E. Scott and John A. Johnson. Alberta attended Wesley Temple United Methodist Church for years until June of 2009 she began to attend Park Seventh Day Adventist Church in Salisbury, MD
She received her education in East New Market, MD, Chester, PA and Maces Lane High School in Cambridge, MD and Baltimore Institute of Computer Management Inc. Alberta had worked for the International Playtex Corporation sewing Space Uniforms for Astronauts, she also worked for over 20 years at in Data Processing in Colorado Springs, CO, at Looart Press Stationary and Campbell Soup Company and Data Services in Salisbury, MD. She loved being with her family.
She married Herndon Rankins Jr. on December 1, 1961 and out of this union were born two children: Deshirl & Percell Rankins. Alberta made numerous friends wherever she went! She was a good wife and awesome loving mother to her children! Her family had accompanied her military husband through several tours of serve with-in the states and abroad from Colorado to Germany before settling in Salisbury, MD.
Alberta leaves found memories in the hearts and minds of her husband, Herndon Rankins Jr., one daughter Deshirl Rankins of Salisbury, MD and one son Percell and daughter-in-law Linda Rankins of Ocean City, MD, a sister Parthenia Goslee of Thompsontown, MD, four brothers David Scott of Federalsburg, MD, Jerry Scott of Preston, MD, Michael Scott of Thompsontown, MD, Randy Scott of East New Market, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Scott, and a brother James Edward Scott Sr.
Funeral services for her will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at noon at Framptom Funeral Home, P. A. in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 to 12:00. Interment will follow at Thompsontown Cemetery.
The family has requested that donations be made in her memory to Coastal Hospice at the Lake, P. O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
