Albert John Green's Obituary
Albert John Green, of Salisbury and formerly of Easton, known fondly as “Greenie” passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was 89.
He was born on May 12, 1918 in Laurel, DE, son of the late James Hillard Green and Bertha Gertrude Waller Green. He was preceded in death by his wife, Osiclea Girley Green on April 10, 1985.
He attended Laurel Public Schools. He served his country by enlisting in the United States Army and was a World War II Veteran. He worked for the Department of Transportation but the love of his life was running his produce stand along Route 13 in Laurel, DE.
He is survived by four children, Wayne D. Green and his friend, Martie of Blades, DE, Thelma J. Stanley and her husband, Joseph M. of Laurel, DE, Arlene V. Green of Laurel, DE, Carlissa Green and her friend, Forest of Newark, DE, one sister, Charlotte Fooks of Delmar, DE, 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Mary Downing and her husband, Charles of Boston, MA, and Stacia Girley of Concord, DE, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Green, a son, Richard D. Green, and three brothers, Arthur, David, and Walter Green.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Floyd Bivens officiating. Interment will follow at St. Matthews First Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurel, Delaware. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
