Alex Jackson, Jr's Obituary
Rev. Alex Jackson, Jr. of Federalsburg passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Chesapeake Woods Center in Cambridge, Maryland. He was 80.
Born on May 30, 1941, he was the son of Alex Jackson, Sr., and Lula Mae McMillan Jackson.
He married Helen L. Sturgis Jackson who preceded him in death.
He was the minister of Alpha & Omega Church in Federalsburg. Before becoming a minister he was a Waterman in McDaniel, Md and a fork lift driver for Williamsburg Canning Factory for many years. In his free time, he loved to go fishing, working his garden, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was known for his huge garden and baking sweet potato pies.
He is survived by eight children: Randy Sturgis and his wife Carolyn of Bridgeville, Levi Sturgis and his wife Cynthia of Hurlock, Alexzine Jackson-Slaughter of Cambridge, Trena Jackson of Texas, Oliver Jackson of Cambridge, Alfred Jackson of Laurel, DE , Erick Jackson of Baltimore and Martin Jackson of Florida; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; eight siblings: Julius Jackson, Lottie Jackson, Ruby Jackson, James Jackson and his wife Annie, Alonzo Jackson, Lydia Jackson-Bruce and her husband Jimmy, Lula Mae Jackson and Norma Miller.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Gary Jackson and Roland Jackson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg. Burial will be private.
