Alfred Bernard "Taxi" Stanley, Sr.'s Obituary
Alfred Bernard “Taxi” Stanley, Sr. of Hurlock died at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD on Sunday, January 2, 2011. He was 62.
He was born on December 23, 1948 the son of the late Charlie Monroe Stanley, Sr. and Cecelia Thompson Stanley.
He worked at several places in his life including Continental Can in Hurlock for 5 years, Memorial Hospital for 5 years and later owned his own Taxicab which he operated in Federalsburg and other communities.
He was an honest and dedicated man who helped everyone he could. He loved his children and grandchildren and gave his life trying to protect others.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Cora Wilcox Stanley who he married on Oct. 3, 1971 and four children, Kim Motaal of Preston, Alfred Bernard Stanley, Jr. of Federalsburg, Tyrone Stanley of Hurlock and James Stanley of Wilmington, DE, 8 grandchildren, Mervin Henry, Jr., Rahiem Motaal, Ricardo Hutchison, Nadia Motaal, Sara Motaal, Breonna Stanley, James Stanley, Jr. and Jhalen Stanley and 3 great-grandchildren, Kiemyah Henry, Zyhir Henry and Rickelle Henry and three brothers, Frederick H. Stanley and Algie Stanley of Hurlock and James Stanley (Cassandra) of Linkwood and a sister, Gennette Nichols (Emerson) of Hurlock, many nieces and nephews and a special mother-in-law, Elnora Wilcox of Preston.
Funeral services for him will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Refuge Temple Church of God, 800 Robbins Street, Cambridge, MD, with Bishop Lewis Richards, officiating. Interment will follow in East New Market Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from noon to 1:00 p.m.
