Alice Callahan's Obituary
Alice O. Callahan of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Monday, Aug. 24, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was 102 years old.
She was born Nov. 8, 1906 in Frostburg, MD the daughter of the late John and Christiana Ort Glime.
She was a homemaker and had worked at the Manor House in Seaford, DE in housekeeping. She was a member of the Friendship Church.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Louise Callahan of Federalsburg, 5 grandchildren, Steve White (Sherrie) of Dunwoody, GA, Brian White (Darlene) of Highland, MD, Chris Miller (Tom) of Rhodesdale, MD, Kathy Callahan (Pat) of Salisbury, and Karen Bell of Federalsburg, 11 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo W. Callahan, two children, Virginia Lee Callahan White and Joseph “Buddy” Callahan, and by her siblings, Helen Glime, Paul, Ernest, John and Carl Glime.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Caroline Hospice Foundation, Inc., P. O. Box 362, Denton, MD 21629.
