Alice Evans (Evans) Cohee's Obituary
Alice Evans Cohee died January 15, 2013, at the Caroline Nursing Home, Denton. She was born February 10, 1921, in St. Michaels, a daughter of the late Louise Lomax Evans and Harry M. Evans, Sr. Alice was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Thomas L. Cohee. A 1938 graduate of St. Michaels High School, in early years Alice was a popular leading lady in theater productions throughout the area. She was the bookkeeper and office manager at Shannahan Artesian Well Company for many years and regarded the Shannahans as part of her family. A very active member of Christ Church, St. Michaels, Alice taught Sunday school and served on the vestry, the alter guild, and as a docent for many years. She loved the water, her gardens - she was a Master Gardener, cooking, playing bridge, and most of all, spending time with her family. Alice leaves to cherish her memory a son, Tom Cohee, and brother Harry Evans, Jr., both of Easton, a sister, Anne O'Neal of Bay Minette, AL, a niece, Pam O'Brian and her mother Betty Evans of McDaniel, and many other dear relatives and friends. Alice was predeceased by a son, Timothy Cohee, a sister, Iva S. Thompson, and brother W. Keith Evans, Sr. Family and friends will celebrate Alice's life with a communion service at Christ Church, St. Michaels, on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 11:00am.
