Alice M. Marshall
McDaniel, Alice M. Marshall of McDaniel died at the Talbot Hospice House, on Monday, July 30, 2012. She was 51. Born in Waukesha, Wisconsin on May 31, 1961, she was the daughter of Ardith A. Savoy and the late Richard Savoy. Her love of native plants led her to the Eastern Shore where she became an independent gardener. She was sought after and worked mainly on private estates in Talbot County. Alice loved the outdoors and she was active in anything that would allow her that opportunity. She was also a gifted artist and carver. Mrs. Marshall is survived by her husband, Robert "Capt. Bobby" Marshall and a daughter, Sammy Marshall, both of McDaniel; a step-son, Ben Marshall of Newcomb; her step-mother, Patricia Savoy of Wisconsin; two sisters, Margaret Savoy of California and Christa Savoy of Wisconsin; two brothers, William Savoy and Richard Savoy, both of Washington State; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Messick and her husband Gene of St. Michaels; sister-in-law, Kate Benton of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made in Alice’s memory to the Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601 or to the St. Michaels Fire Dept., 1001 S. Talbot St. St. Michaels, MD 21663. Arrangements are by the Hurley & Ostrowski Funeral Home P.A. St. Michaels.
