Alice Virginia Tuckett Delphias' Obituary
Alice Virginia Tuckett Delphias died at Jennersville Regional Hospital in West Grove, PA on Wednesday, January 12, 2011. She was 89.
She was born on January 13, 1921 in Vienna, MD the daughter of the late William Marshall Lee and Ruth Maggie Murphy Lee. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, George W. Tuckett, Jr. and Joseph L. Delphias.
She was a seamstress and worked at Hurlock Sportswear in Hurlock for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hurlock.
She is survived by three step-children, Eleanor Eldreth and Charles Delphias both of West Jefferson, North Carolina and Diane L. Smith of Elkton, MD, 11 step-grandchildren, and 23 step-great-grandchildren and two nieces, Cleo Lavender of Charleston, SC and Shirley A. Beauchamp of Federalsburg. Three siblings preceded her in death, Lettie Ruth Turner, Woodrow Lee and Mamie Elizabeth White.
Funeral services for her will be held on Tuesday, January 18. 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Unity-Washington cemetery in Hurlock. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Bobby Humphries, David Humphries, Tommy Humphries, Melvin Newell, Jr., Duane Hilghman and John Beauchamp.
