Alicia S. Grant's Obituary
Alicia S. Grant of Neavitt, Maryland passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2026 at the University of Maryland Medical System at Easton. She was 79.
She was born on July 24, 1946 in Rochester, NY, the daughter of the late William Simcox and Evelyn L. Jamison Simcox.
She attended the Rhode Island School of Design from 1961-1965, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. It was also at RISD that Alicia met her husband Alex, the love of his life. After college Alex and Alicia were part owners of Despy, a fine craft and jewelry making business. After a few years of traveling to promote their work, Alex and Alicia settled down in New York, where they had two children. Alex and Alicia retired in 1999 and moved to Neavitt, Md. Alex preceded her in death on August 6, 2013.
Alicia is survived by two children: Susan of Nantucket, Massachusetts; and James of Neavitt, Maryland; and her grandchildren Grant and Max Beebe of Nantucket, Massachusetts.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
