A. Lorraine Pohl's Obituary
Alma Lorraine Pohl of Rhodesdale, Maryland passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Mallard Bay in Cambridge. She was 88.
She was born on September 11, 1925 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of the late William Alvin Spear and Laura Spear Keefer.
She grew up in Brookview, and attended Eldorado School, and later graduated from Hurlock High School with the class of 1942. In February of 1947, she then married Maynard P. Pohl. He preceded her in death in 1993. She worked for the former Hurlock Sportswear as a bookkeeper and manager for 50 years, retiring in 1992.
She was a member of Brookview United Methodist Church and held various positions over the years. She enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and the beloved family shar pei “Sassie”. She loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Jones and her husband, Bruce of Cambridge, three grandchildren, Karly Foglesonger and her husband Bruce, III of Vienna, Kara Tyler of Rhodesdale, and Michael Jones of Cambridge, four great grandchildren, Donald Bruce Foglesonger, IV, Matthew Jones, Alex Jones and Zach Jones. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael S. Pohl, a brother, William Spear, and a granddaughter Crystal Michelle Tyler.
Funeral services will be on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 2:00 at the Brookview United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery.
