Alyce Virginia Brown's Obituary
Alyce Virginia Brown of Reliance, MD passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 surrounded by family at her daughter's home in Laurel, DE . She was 73 years old.
Born in Seaford, DE on July 25, 1952, Alyce was the daughter of the late Wallace and Lauretta Nichols. She was a graduate of Colonel Richardson High School class of 1971. On March 5, 1999 she married George Brown, and together they made their home in Reliance. George sadly passed in 2012.
Alyce worked for many years in food service as a cook at the Genesis Nursing home in Seaford. In her free time she enjoyed crafting, doing puzzle books, and finding a good yard sale. She was a lifetime member of Concord United Methodist Church outside of Federalsburg. Always closest to her heart was her family.
Left to mourn Alyce are her daughters Christy Ross (Kelly) of The Villages, FL, Lisa Chelton (Bill) of Laurel, DE and Mary Havens (Jimmy) also of Laurel, DE; her brother Ricky Nichols, Sr (Libby) of Federalsburg, MD; her nephew Ricky, Jr (Tammy); her niece Melissa; and many friends from throughout her life.
Alyce was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband David Hudson, and her second husband George.
A funeral service will be held at Framptom Funeral Home by the Coales in Federalsburg on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 starting at 1pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will be at Concord Cemetery.
