Angela Maureen Hammond's Obituary
Angela Maureen Hammond went home to be with the Lord on Sunday. July 19, 2015 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She was 53.
She was born on January 1, 1962 in Easton, Maryland the daughter of the late Linwood Taylor and Hilda Mae Brummell Hammond.
She attended and graduated from Colonel Richardson High School with the class of 1980. She was a direct support supervisor and later worked for the Easter Seals of Delaware and Maryland as a program supervisor.
She was a member of the Kingdom Empowerment Church in Seaford where she served on the praise and worship team, children’s church, hospitability, and was a Deaconess. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by two children, Marvin Thompson of Princess Anne, MD, and Markeisha Burton and her husband Russell of Felton, DE; a granddaughter she raised as her own, Ty’Tionah Thompson of Georgetown, DE; a niece she considered her daughter, Kimberly Pruitt of Salisbury, MD; seven grandchildren; Ke’ozjay Burton, Kalya Burton, Devon Kilgoe, Aa’liyah Thompson, Mekhi Ayres Thompson, Madi Sol Eley Thompson, and Sincere Thompson; and four siblings; Ruth Ann Campbell and her husband Kermit of Millsboro, DE, Linwood Hammond of Atlanta, GA, Donnell Hammond and his wife, Irene of Bridgeville, DE, and Mervin Hammond of Seaford, DE. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Destiny Montera Sousa Thompson and three siblings, Louis Brummell, Merril Hammond and Vivian Hammond.
A celebration of Angela’s life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 1:00 at the Kingdom Empowerment Church in Seaford with Pastor Mason McGill officiating. Interment will follow in Federal Hill Cemetery in Federalsburg. The family will receive friends at the Church on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 and 12:00 to 1:00 on Saturday.
