Annie Mae Horsey's Obituary
Annie Mae Horsey of Seaford, DE was born May 2, 1933 to the late Ned and Mary Horsey, in Laurel, DE. She went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 5, 2014. Annie attended Laurel Public Schools as a youth and later gave her heart to the Lord at age seventeen. She married the late Samuel Horsey, Sr. and out of their union came ten children, 6 boys and 4 girls. Annie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching religious programs, and playing her tambourine during church services. Some of her favorite sayings were: “Get ready, stay ready, to be ready when Jesus comes and “God is too wise to make a mistake.” Encouraging others to be faithful to God was also important to her. Even in her sickness, she kept the faith and remained steadfast on God’s word because she knew she was covered by the blood of Jesus Christ. She would state, “If God don’t do it, then it won’t be done.” Forever in the hearts of her family and loved ones she will be remembered.
She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Horsey, Sr., a son Donald Lee Horsey, and granddaughter, Jessica Greene. She leaves to cherish her loving children, Barbara Horsey of Seaford, DE, Samuel Horsey, Jr. of Laurel, DE, James Horsey of Laurel, DE, Ida Greene of Milford, DE, David Horsey of Seaford, DE, Gary Horsey (Trina) of Bridgeville, DE, Laura Johnson (Johnny) of Seaford, DE, Christina Horsey of Seaford, DE, Steven Horsey of Laurel, DE and daughter-in-law Darlene Horsey of Laurel, DE, sisters, Sarah Roberts of Laurel, DE, Jeanette Horsey of Seaford, DE and brothers, Clifford Horsey of Seaford, DE and Lee Horsey of Wilmington, DE, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Horsey.
