Ann J. Jester's Obituary
Ann Josephine Anthony Jester, of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Ruxton Health of Denton, MD. She was 95 years old.
She was born Jan. 24, 1913 near Greensboro, MD, the daughter of the late William Henry Anthony and Susan Melvina Flowers Anthony. Her husband Robert H. Jester preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 1998.
She was a poultry grower. She was a former member of Chestnut Grove United Methodist where she served as Sunday School teacher and Bible Teacher for the UMW. She was a member of the Denton Wesleyan Church.
She is survived by a son, Dale H. Jester of Wilmington, DE, daughter-in-law Sharon J. Jester, 3 grandchildren, Robin Peele and her husband, Leonard, of Federalsburg, Rhonda Jones and her husband, Kelly, of Easton, and Robert Jester and his wife, Patricia, of Federalsburg, 6 great-granchildren, Natalie Peele, Allyson Peele, Amanda Jester, Courtney Jester, R.J. Jones, and Justin Jones, a special great-great-granddaughter, Kallie Rose Peele, 3 brothers, Lewis Anthony of Greensboro, MD, Dawson Anthony of Federalsburg, and Stanley “Stumpy” Anthony of Wyoming, DE; 2 sisters, Kitty Ottinger of Dover, DE, and Virginia Cahall of Dover, DE, a special niece and caregiver, Shirley Daffin of Denton, MD, and many nieces and nephews. A son, Robert A. Jester, preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2004, as did 6 brothers and 1 sister, Robert Anthony, Wilbert Anthony, William Anthony, Preston “Chub” Anthony, Paul Anthony, Virgil Anthony, and Irene Likens Shockey.
Funeral services will be held on Sat. June 28, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Wroten officiating. Interment will follow in Bloomery Cemetery in Smithville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
