Cordova, Anthony L. “Andy” Howell of Cordova died at the University of MD. Shore Medical Center, Easton, on Sunday, October 20, 2013. He was 64. Born in Talbot Co. on May 19, 1949 he was the son of the late Claude L. and Eileen Baynard Howell. Andy attended Talbot Co. public schools and in July 1968 was inducted into the U.S. Army. Andy served his country honorably, he received a purple heart for wounds inflicted while serving in Vietnam. Following his release from active duty in 1970 he returned to Talbot co. where he worked for Swann’s tire center, later for Weems Brother’s Maine Construction, and finally for Johnsons Logging as an equipment operator, until retiring for health reasons in August of this year. Andy loved the outdoors, traveling, and being with his family. He always had a smile on his face, and a story to tell. Andy is survived by his beloved wife and soul-mate, the former Darlene Putman, whom he married on December 22, 1968. In addition he is survived by two daughters; Toni Lee Harvey of Pigeon Forge, TN and Sherri Lynn Ernest of Severna Park, MD, two; sisters; Carolyn Lednum of Tilghman, Shirley Slaughter of Caroline Co. four brothers; Stanley Howell of Seaford, De., Paul Howell, Elvis Howell both of Easton, and David Howell of Salisbury, MD., three grandchildren; Amber Harvey, Catherine Alley and Joseph Ernest, III one Great grandson Craig Graleski, Jr., also numerous nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday Oct. 25, 2013 at the Ostrowski Funeral Home 312 S. Talbot Street, St. Michaels from 6 to 8PM (additional parking at St. Luke’s U.M.C.)
