Anthony “Tony” Shufelt of Essex, MD passed away on Friday, April 6, 2012 at the Gilchrist Hospice Care in Baltimore, MD. He was 59.
He was born Nov. 27, 1952 in Seaford, DE the son of the late Lennon and Janet Lee Hudson Shufelt.
He was a graduate of Seaford High School Class of 1971. He was a mason by trade and retired from BWI Airport. He was the former owner of Bel Air Trash in Bel Air, MD. Tony enjoyed hunting, gardening, spending time with family and friends,
and using his incredible skills to build beautiful stone and brick structures.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen Mueller Shufelt, step-mother Gladys Shufelt of Stevensville, MD, two daughters Tracy L. Garretson and her husband Chad of Phoenix, AZ, Kendra R. Kearney and her husband David of Winston-Salem, NC, a son Robert A. Shufelt of Street, MD, and a step-daughter Michelle N. Mitchell and her husband Robert of Parkville, MD, seven grandchildren, a brother Len Shufelt and his wife Dianna of Conowingo, MD, a sister Teresa Lindell and her husband Pierce of Seaford, step-brother Keith Cockey and his wife Lourdes of Boyds, MD, step-sister Lynn Nissen and her husband Richard of Stevensville, and a beloved Uncle Freddie Hudson of Essex.
Funeral services will be held on Wed. April 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg, MD with Rev. Dan Gedman officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 2-4 pm and from 7-9 pm and on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00.
