Arnold J. "Junior" Griffith, Jr.'s Obituary
Arnold J. Griffith, Jr. known fondly as “Junior” passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Envoy of Denton. He was 79.
He was born on April 7, 1931 in Brookview, Maryland, the son of the late Arnold Griffith and Myra Bramble Griffith.
He graduated from Hurlock High School class of 1948. He was married to the former Martha “Marty” E. Towers on June 26, 1953. She preceded him in death on November 24, 2008. He enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on February 10, 1955. He worked for Service Trucking as a truck driver and later became the dock foreman. He then worked for Tri-Gas and Oil Company as a truck driver, and later managed the hardware store and then was a dispatcher. He was a past member of the Federalsburg VFW post #5246. His life’s passion was his family.
He is survived by four sons, Bunky Griffith and his wife, Renee of Greenwood, DE, Billy Griffith and his wife Dee of Federalsburg, MD, Dicky Griffith and his wife Nancy of Centreville, MD, and Steve Griffith and his wife Patti of Greenwood, DE, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister Ella Schiff and her husband Harry of Federalsburg, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Griffith, Robert Griffith and Lawrence Griffith.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Rev. Joe Legates officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday
