Arthur VanSchaik's Obituary
Arthur R. VanSchaik of Preston passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the University of Maryland Medical System at Easton. He was 90.
He was born on May 4, 1928 in Lodi, NJ, the son of the late John VanSchaik and Anna Reckenbeil VanSchaik.
He was married to Betty Richards VanSchaik. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2017.
Most all of his life, he was a self-employed plumbing and heating contractor. He loved collecting antique cars, especially his ’41 Buick. He was a former member of the Bay Country Car Club. He also was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles.
He is survived by two daughters, Elaine Boyd and her husband Bernie of Harmony, and Jeri Webster and her husband Richard of Trappe; three grandchildren, Tammy Ewing and her husband Timmy of Easton, Jeremy Boyd of Harmony, and Lauren Ayres and her husband Howard of Trappe; two great grandchildren, Colby and Callie Boyd.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother Edwin VanSchaik.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 11:00 at Junior Order Cemetery in Preston with Pastor Bob Davis officiating.
