Atha Marie Willey Blades' Obituary
Atha Marie Willey Blades died at Caroline Nursing Home in Denton, MD on Saturday, May 27, 2012. She was 90.
She was born on April 28, 1922 near Vienna, MD the daughter of the late Joseph Tilden Willey and Ada Camilla Hughes Willey. Her husband of sixty years, Maurice Kenneth Blades died on November 28, 1999. She was a poultry grower who loved flowers, gardening and baking rolls for her neighbors. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Preston. She is survived by two sons, Wayne M. Blades and his wife Vickie of Salisbury and Gary Dale Blades and his wife Barbara of Federalsburg; three grandchildren, Kimberly L. Jones, Lisa M. Townsend, Kelly L Howard; six great-grandchildren, Jordan Jones, Janna Jones, Lauren Howard, Meredith Howard, Jack Townsend and Samantha Townsend; two sisters-in-law Bertha Grunden and Josephine Willey and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings, Grace Hughes, Hazel Willey, Wilbur Willey, Leonard Willey, Lester Willey, Woodrow Willey, Carson Willey and Leroy Willey. Funeral services for her will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Framptom Funeral Home, P. A. in Federalsburg with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00.
