Barbara Ann Batson's Obituary
Barbara Ann Batson (Woods) of Lewes, Delaware passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at her home. She was 59.
Barbara was born on April 26, 1960, in Florida, to the late Ella James Woods and Alfred Blivens.
Barb, as we called her, enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, and cooking (when she was able). Barb was known for her caring attitude and witty jokes.
Barb worked in the production industry for over 20 years. Barb will be truly missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 23 years, Joseph Batson, her children, Elamont Harris, Anthony C. Woods, Kevin Woods, Deshonda Nichols, Antoine Jones, Terrence Johnson, and Tymira Smack, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and mother-in-law, Doris Batson, her in-laws, Grace Lucille Wilson, Bryan Dobson, Darrell Nichols, Renee Johnson, Kem Smith, Lukitia Smith, Donte' Strand, and Ronikia Fountain.
In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her children, Joseph Batson, and Jo’rina Batson, her sister, Alfreda Woods, her brother, Anthony Woods, and her father in law, Charles Hardin and his siblings, Jeremiah, Thomas, Alfred, Grace, Martha, and Mary Virginia.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 1:00p.m. at Church of God of Prophecy in Federalsburg, MD, with Pastor Henry Johnson, Jr. officiating. A visitation will be held from 12-1pm prior to the start of the service. Interment will be held at Bethel Cemetery immediately following the service.
