Barbara Jo Bender's Obituary
Barbara Jo Smith King Bender of Easton, MD passed away Friday, April 28, 2023. She was 77 years old.
Born in Easton, MD on June 10, 1945 to the late Lewis H Smith and Lena Marie Smith-Cole. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her late husbands Jerome Lee King and Ralph W. Bender.
"Jo" was a 1963 graduate of Easton High School and a 1965 graduate of West Liberty State College, West Liberty, West Virginia as a dental hygienist. One of the first dental hygienist on the Eastern Shore, she worked for several dentists for 53 years until her retirement in December 2018.
She loved golf, going to the beach, gardening (roses) and cats.
Jo is survived by her brother Lewis Smith (Gwen); two sons, Jeffrey L. King and Barry H. King (Laura) of Salisbury, MD and their 3 children, Maysen, Kendall and Brody; four step children, Randy, Matt, Pat and Nicole Bender and their families, 2 step sisters, 2 nieces and 2 nephews and her beloved feral cats.
At Jo's request there will be a private graveside service at Spring Hill Cemetery, Easton, MD.
