Barbara A. Gannon
Easton, Barbara A. Gannon of Easton died at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center, Easton, with her family at her side on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. She was 75.
Born in Caroline County on May 27, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Emma Fluharty Coleman. She attended public school in both Caroline and Talbot Counties. Mrs. Gannon was a devoted homemaker, who enjoyed taking care of her family. She and her husband James E. “Jimmy” Gannon, whom she married in 1982, lived in various places, including Baltimore, Royal Oak, and finally Easton. Mr. Gannon died in 2010.
Mrs. Gannon liked to go fishing with Jimmy, watching the birds in her yard and eating steamed crabs. But mostly she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three children; Eddie Cummings of Tilghman, David Cummings and his wife Tammi of Easton, Dawn Chance and the late Alan Chance, Sr. also of Easton, one sister Evelyn Deel of Salisbury, five grandchildren; David Cummings, Jr., Melissa Cummings, Sara Cummings, Amber Adams, and Alan Chance, Jr., eight great-grandchildren; Izabele, Izaiah, Brittany, Colby, Nathan, Chloe, Emily and Michael. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters; Ruth Eason, Louise Blades, Alma Hobbs, and Dorothy Brown and one brother; Floyd Coleman.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at New Springhill Cemetery, Easton, MD.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Arrangements are by the Ostrowski Funeral Home, St. Michaels, MD.
