Barbara E. Stallard's Obituary
Barbara E. Stallard, Of Harrington, DE, passed away on January 20, 2022, at Bay Health Hospital Dover. She was 78.
Barbara was January 31,1943 to James and Willimina Lewis of Harrington. She graduated from Harrington High School Class of 1961. She was a fierce competitor playing on both varsity basketball and softball teams in school. Barbara was known for her dedication and hard work, a Jane of all trades and master of all, she worked locally as a telephone operator, office assistant, bartender, master baker and most recently owned and operated a commercial and residential cleaning company.
Barbara found great joy in caring for her family. She loved her family the most and made herself available for them until the end. She also loved to travel she and her late husband Sean M. Stallard traveled every winter to a tropical location, one of the favorite spots was Aruba.
She was always happy to be in the warm sunshine and most recently enjoyed a vacation to Florida with her Granddaughter and Great grandson.
Barbara was passionate about sports. On Sunday she could be found watching Nascar racing or cheering on her Dallas Cowboys football team.
In addition to her parents and husband Barbara was preceded in death by her brothers William, Frank and John Lewis. Her aunt and uncle James Edward & Charlotte Hutson (who were like second parents to her)
She is survived by a daughter, Joan Hamstead (John) of Greenwood, Sons Michael Ratledge of Harrington and Steven Ratledge (Cheryl) of Seaford, Sisters Wanda Wildes of Harrington and June Carey (Charles)of Felton and a brother Rusty Lewis of Harrington, Grandchildren; Ashley Brode, Kristen Mears (Lance), Ryan Ratledge (Dawn), Angela Ratledge and Kimberly Blanchfield and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 1pm at Framptom Funeral Home - Fleischauer Chapel in Greenwood. The family will receive visitors from 12-1 pm
Interment will be private
