Barbara Faye Taylor's Obituary
Barbara Faye Taylor, of Seaford, passed away on August 18, 2014 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE. She was 75.
She was born on November 23, 1938, in Cambridge, MD, the daughter of the late Paul Meredith and Mary Belle Williams Corder.
She was raised in Dorchester County and graduated from North Dorchester High School with the class of 1956. She was a homemaker. She started her love for 4-H at a young age as a member of the of the Dorchester Co. 4-H club, and became active in Delaware 4-H. For nearly 50 years she was a 4-H Leader for Sussex County. She founded the Seaford Blue Jays 4-H Club in 1967, was a judge for National 4-H Congress record books and was instrumental in establishing the Younger Member weekend. She will be inducted in the Delaware 4-H Hall of Fame in October.
Barbara was a lifetime member of the First Church of God in Federalsburg, She was a seasonal assistant at Sears and continued working there for 13 years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning, sewing and crewel embroidery. Barbara loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her seven grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, John Clark “Jack” Taylor of Seaford, DE, three daughters, Karen Levesque of Fredericksburg, VA, Jacalyn Bradley of Seaford, DE, and Janelle Koski and her husband Greg of East New Market, MD, seven grandchildren, John Levesque, David Levesque, Amy Levesque, Nathan Bradley, Shannon Bradley, Cole Koski and Jill Koski, and a special friend and godmother to her children, Phyllis Gail Ensor of Upperco, MD. She was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Meredith, a sister, Miriam Lawrence, and several step-brothers & step-sisters, and her son-in-law, Kenneth Levesque.
A funeral will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Rev. Denzil T. Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
