Barbara C. Towers' Obituary
Barbara C. Towers of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011 at
the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. She was 70 years old.
Barbara was born July 1, 1941 in Laurel, DE, the daughter of the late Luther F. and Gladys M. Callaway Culver.
She was a graduate of Seaford High School. Her wonderful people skills were seen as she worked as a phone operator for The Phone Company, secretary for the former Caroline Poultry, an instructional aide in Federalsburg Elementary School, and as switchboard operator for M&M Refrigeration where she retired. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Federalsburg, and attended Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Reliance. Barbara loved to make people happy with her wonderful cooking skills, and will be remembered as sharing love and kindness to everyone she knew.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Kenneth Towers whom she married on June 10, 1961, four children, Kenda Meredith of Federalsburg, Denise Coppage and her husband Jeff and Kim Kapela and her husband Joe, all of Hurlock, MD, and Brett Towers of Federalsburg, eight grandchildren, Natalie Meredith, Nichole Meredith, Nikki Meredith, Brooke Coppage, Brandi Coppage, J.B. Towers, Trevor Kapela, and Austin Kapela, and two great-grandchildren Aubrie Meredith and Jazmine Lake.
Funeral services will be held on Sat. Aug. 13, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home, P. A. with Rev. Conrad “Connie” Cohen and Rev. Rick Wessell officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
