Benjamin L Brooks, Sr.'s Obituary
Benjamin Louis Brooks, Sr. of Delmar, MD, formally of Hurlock, passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones on November 21, 2025. He was 79.
Born in Essex Country Virginia on December 27, 1945, he was the son of the late Harry Erwin and Grace Carter Brooks.
Benjamin was a hard worker from a young age with many years spent on the road as a truck driver. He trained rabbit hunting dogs and had a passion for harness racing. He married Shelia Mae Brooks May 15, 1975 and spent many wonderful years together until her passing in 2006.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Wendy Hudson and her husband Warren of Hurlock, Junior Cabrera of Federalsburg, Barbara Cabrera and companion Amy Carroll of Trappe, Sheila Marderness and her husband Mark of Delmar and Benjamin Brooks, Jr. and companion Jessica of Delmar; his grandchildren: Chris Hudson, Shawn Hudson, Nick Cabrera, Kristen Cabrera, Jordan Cabrera, Chad Hare, Faith Brooks, Benjamin Brooks, III, Dominic Brooks; and his siblings: Lorrell Holder and James Brooks.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Shelia Mae Brooks,; and his siblings: Dorothy Hurst, Samuel Brooks, William Brooks, Paul Brooks, Tommy Brooks, Jack Brooks, and Pearl Moss.
Funeral services for Mr. Brooks will take place Friday, December 5, 2025 at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg at 11:00. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 10:00. Burial at Unity-Washington Cemetery in Hurlock will take place following the service.To help defray unexpected funeral costs for the family, donations can be made directly to the Framptom Funeral Home (216 N.
