Bernice Helen Zimmer's Obituary
Bernice Helen Zimmer of Moravia, NY, passed away on May 30, 2024 at Cayuga Medical Center. She was 98 years old.
Born October 26, 1925 in Binghamton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Loren and Mabel Russell Finch. Bernie was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School, and she married Paul Zimmer on January 22, 1945.
Bernice worked for IBM in Owego, NY and later made a career as a Real Estate Broker with Century 21 and Caldwell Banker. In her free time she enjoyed doing puzzles and crosswords. Both She and Paul were active at 1st Baptist Church in Hurlock, MD.
Bernie is survived by daughters: Heidi Devoe (Ronald) of Dunnellon, FL, Bonnie Zimmer of Washington, DC, Laurie Peiser (Mitch) of Owingsmills, MD, and Betsy Smith of Locke, NY; her ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Paul; her son Paul, Jr.; her sister Cecile Smith; and her sister-in-law Elsie Finch.
Services for Bernice will be held June 7, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg, Maryland. Her family will receive friends and family for one hour prior to the service. Bernice will be buried privately beside her husband Paul at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, Maryland.
