Betty McConnell's Obituary
Betty Bradley McConnell of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2009. She was 85 years old.
She was born Oct. 25, 1923, the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Mills Bradley.
She was the originator and long time owner of the former Tastee Freeze of Federalsburg, where she enjoyed the challenges, rewards and pleasures of all her employees and customers. She was a life member of Caroline Chapter #62 Order of the Eastern Star and was a Past Matron of Nanticoke Chapter #64. She was also a life member of the Federalsburg VFW Post 5246 Ladies Auxiliary. Betty was a long time member of Christ United Methodist Church in Federalsburg. Most of all she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by two sons, Duff McConnell and his wife Gina, and Luke McConnell and his wife Victoria, five grandchildren, Leslie McConnell Taber and her husband Mike, Molly McConnell Guthrie and her husband Kevin, Adam McConnell, Aron McConnell and his wife Jen, and Rebecca McConnell; a brother, Norman Bradley and his wife Joanne, and a sister Hazel Wheatley.
Funeral services will be held on Sat. May 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sat. from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in her memory to Christ United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, c/o James Hubbert, 315 Maple Ave., Federalsburg, MD 21632.
