Betty F. Mowbray's Obituary
Betty F. Mowbray passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Envoy of Denton. She was 89.
She was born on January 31, 1923 in Smithville, Maryland daughter of the late Arthur Lyden Beauchamp and Florence Jaevens Beauchamp. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Githens, Paul Keene, Roger Payne and Norman Mowbray.
She owned and operated her own boarding house and worked as a seamstress and laundress. Betty enjoyed crossword puzzles, search and find puzzles, and thoroughly enjoyed her home and family.
She is survived by her six children, Stewart Thomas Githens (Rosie) of Silver Spring, MD, Barbara Street (Byard) of Preston, MD, Ronald Keene of Rocky Point, NC, Gerald Keene of Federalsburg, MD, Steven Keene (Wendy) of Bridgeville, DE, Paul Keene (Valerie) of Federalsburg, MD, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a sister, Pauline Mitchell of Federalsburg, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, James Edward Keene, seven brothers, Earl Collins, John Collins, Paul Beauchamp, Arthur Beauchamp, Jr., Bernard Beauchamp, Sherman Beauchamp, and Calvert Beauchamp, and a sister, Doryse Sciolino.
A funeral service will be held on. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the
Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
