Betty Bennett Wells Roden's Obituary
Betty Bennett Wells Roden of Galestown, Maryland passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE. She was 85.
She was born on November 8, 1928 in West Virginia, the daughter of the late James Bennett and Helen Constance Darnel Bennett.
She was married to Hubert Wells who preceded her in death on July 1, 1985. Later she married Edward Roden who preceded her in death on February 5, 2008.
She as a member of the Galestown United Methodist Church. She had worked in the component lab for E.I. DuPont in Seaford DE, retiring in 1985.
Betty was well known for her cooking and baking. If it came from Betty, it was delicious. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her two pugs, Sandy and Mandy.
She is survived by three daughters: Connie Collins of Seaford, DE; Debra McKamey and her husband Rob and his mother, Stella all of Laurel, DE; and Colleen Wells and her friend, Tina of Galestown; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Newton of East New Market, Shelly Newton Travers and her husband Jimmy of East New Market, David Hanson, Jr. of Rising Sun, Heather Hanson of Easton, Barry Hubbard and his wife Christina of Rhodesdale, Shawn White of Salisbury, John White of New Castle, and Frankie White and his wife, Regina of Seaford, 10 great grandchildren, and one great grandchild, a daughter in law, Cathy Wells of Laurel, three brothers, Kenny Bennett of Delmar, DE, Robert Bennett of Laurel, and Laurence Bennett and his wife, Mary of Baltimore, MD.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerome Wells, five brothers, Norman Bennett, Jerome Bennett, James Bennett, Walter Bennett and Thomas Bennett, and a grand daughter-in-law, Tracey Newton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 1:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Reverend Ruth Tull officiating. Interment will follow in Galestown Cemetery in Galestown. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 at the Funeral Home.
The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to the Framptom Funeral Home, 216 North Main Street Federalsburg, MD 21632 to help defray funeral costs
