Betty Ann Wieland's Obituary
Betty Wilcox Wieland died January 3, 2021. She was born January 19, 1923 in Mineola N.Y. and grew up in Garden City, Long Island. May 9th 1942 Betts married Lt. Charles H. Wieland III at Mitchell field Air Force Chapel. Upon returning from Albrook Air Base in Panama, Bud and Bett settled in Talbot County where they raised six children: Charles IV (Chivy)(Sandy), William (Becky), Tommy, Sally Smith (Andy), Debbie Meredith (Paul), and Robert (Leigh Anne). Betty loved her family which included 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Time away from the hectic, demanding life as a mother, she enjoyed playing bridge, knitting, gardening, animals, handwork and especially quilting. She was a charter member of the Bayside Quilters, Choptank Antique Club, and past President of both the Izaak Walton League and Talbot County Women's Club. Bett was always an active volunteer in her clubs and for the CBMM, Waterfowl Festival, and preparing dinner for Talbot Hospice. Betts was a faithful member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, Easton. Her happiest memories were the 69 years of marriage to Bud. Bett was preceded in death by her husband Bud and a grandson, Mathew. Burial will be private at the Veterans Cemetery in Beulah.
