Betty M. Willis' Obituary
Betty Marie Willis of Federalsburg, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. She was 90.
She was born on June 24, 1928 near Greenwood, DE, the daughter of the late Walter E. Breeding and Mary E. Smith Breeding.
In 1945, she married her loving husband, Kenneth L. Willis, Sr. and moved to the Friendship area, where she spent the remainder of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband on October 23, 2014.
Betty was a member of the former Friendship Community Church where she had served as Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher. She sang with the Friendship Gospel hour and later joined the Amazing Grace Group and traveled to many local churches and nursing homes. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at her home in Fenwick Island. Betty was known for her humor and charm. She was always willing to lend a hand to others and will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Betty is survived by her devoted son, Kenneth L. Willis, Jr. and his wife Joanne of Federalsburg and her loving daughter, Barbara A. Blades and her husband, Gary of Federalsburg, also her loving grandchildren, Lisa Townsend and her husband, Butch, Aaron Willis and his wife, Stephanie, Kelly Howard and her husband, Bobby, Karen Mensonides and her husband, Mike, and Betty's pride and joy, her eight great-grandchildren, Matthew Willis, Mason Willis, Lauren Howard, Meredith Howard, Jack Townsend, Samantha Townsend, Jamie Mensonides, and Ryan Mensonides.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Rev. Denzil Cheek, a long time friend to the Willis Family will be officiating. In the words of Betty, "God bless Rev. Cheek for his love and kindness to our family and to many other families. God surely has a crown waiting in Heaven for Rev. Cheek". The family will receive friends 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Entombment will be at Friendship Church Cemetery.
