Betty Jean Wise's Obituary
Prophetess Betty Jean Smith Wise, of Hurlock, departed this life on Sunday, July 9, 2006 at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge. She was 58.
She was born on July 4, 1948, in Cordova, Maryland, the daughter of the late Essie Mae Smith and Oliver Wilkinson.
She had previously attended The Church of Christ in Jonestown and was a faithful member for 27 years at the Church of God of Prophecy in Federalsburg. For the past 4 years she was a member of The Anointed Hand Ministry in Easton under the leadership of her son, Pastor William Hill, Jr.
Prophetess Betty Wise leaves to celebrate her life, her husband of thirty years, VaNess Wise, whom she married on October 24, 1975, three sons, Pastor William Alfred Hill, Jr. and his wife, Pam, Wayne Hill and his wife, Rochelle, all of Baltimore, Keith Hill and Latonya Pinder of Dover, DE, a daughter, Lena Hill Burbage and her husband, Richard of Seaford, DE, four grandsons whom she raised after the passing of her daughter, Lorraine Granger, Francois Baptise of Dover, DE, Joel Baptise, Michiah Granger, Roy Granger all of Hurlock, fourteen other grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, her special friend, Minister Shirley Murray Blackwell of Easton, her spiritual children, and a host of friends and family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Park Lane Church of God in Federalsburg, with Pastor Heather Morris, Presiding and Pastor William Alfred Hill, Jr. as Eulogist. Interment will follow at Federal Hill Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the Framptom Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m, and at the church on Saturday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
