Betty M. Chance's Obituary
Betty Mae Chance, formerly of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 at Caroline Nursing Home in Denton, MD. She was 78.
Betty was born Aug. 5, 1933 in Choptank, MD, the daughter of the late Clinton Leonard Willey and Frances Elizabeth Hicks Willey. Her husband, Charles Edward “Hotdog” Chance preceded her in death on July 26, 2000.
She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved good times and was known for wonderful sense of humor. She had worked for Shore Stop in the deli department, and had worked as a bartender at the American Legion in Seaford and at the Seaford Inn.
She is survived by four children Della Sinclair of Preston, Ernie Chance and his wife Sandy of Hurlock, Edward Chance and his partner Bob of Moss Point, Miss., Vernon Chance and his wife Lynn of Easton, 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Valerie Keene of Federalsburg, sister-in-law Audrey Willey of Choptank, a niece Melinda Wright, and nephew Danny Willey. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son Marvin L. Chance, Sr. and a brother Donald Willey.
Funeral services will be held on Tues. Dec. 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Dunn officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.
