Betty Rae Bowdle's Obituary
Betty Rae Bowdle of Federalsburg passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. She was 80 years old.
She was born on April 21, 1930 in Spencer West Virginia the daughter of the late Roscoe Hensley and Mazie Mahr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Virgil Bowdle, Sr.
She was previously employed at the Telephone Company and retired from Solo Cup in Federalsburg. She was a member of Bloomery Church for many years where she served as a Sunday School Treasurer, taught Sunday School, and for many years was the sextant for Bloomery Cemetery.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Debra Lynn Adams and her husband, Nick of Greenwood, DE, a son, Charles Virgil Bowdle, Jr. of Federalsburg, three grandchildren, Crystal Adams, Stephani Adams and her husband Chris, Derek Adams and his wife, Lauren, five great-grandchildren, Tyler Evans, Libby Adams, J.T. Adams, Peyton Adams, Brady Adams, five siblings, Bruce Mahr and William Mahr, both of Seaford, Carl Mahr of Annapolis, Chris Mahr of North Olmstead, Ohio, Vicki Pfiefle of Georgetown, and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Hensley and a sister Wanda Walker.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Rev. Dan Walker officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Bloomery Cemetery.
