Beverly Ann Sirman's Obituary
Beverly Ann Sirman of Seaford passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 77.
She was born on October 30, 1943 in Smyrna, Delaware; the daughter of the late Gilbert N. Shane, Sr., and Margaret Helen Smith Shane.
After her education, Beverly married Walter Sirman on February 13, 1965 and they made their home in Seaford. As a homemaker, she took great pride helping her husband on the family farm while raising their children together. In her free time, Beverly loved to socialize. She enjoyed gatherings and events so she could catch up with her family and friends. She also loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. Her passion was loving Jesus Christ and telling everyone she came into contact with about His love for them.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Walter L. Sirman of Seaford; three children: Gregory G. Cartwright, I and his wife Aileen of Greenwood, Christine L. Maddox and her husband Christopher of Seaford, and Valerie L. Elswick and her husband Gary of Laurel; six grandchildren: Gregory G. Cartwright, II and his wife Rachael, Adam S. Cartwright and his wife Victoria, Margaret R. Cartwright, Christopher M. Maddox, II and his wife Tabitha, Autumn L. Metz and Wyatt M. German; three great-grandchildren: Abigail L. Porter, Daniel K. Cartwright and Shane T. Cartwright, and expecting a great-granddaughter in March 2021; and her two sisters: Mary Jane Hastings of Greenwood and Frances Murphy of Bridgeville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Jessica Elise Maddox and two brothers Marvin Shane and Gilbert “Buddy” Shane, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Old Paths Church of Christ, 18295 Redden Road, Georgetown from 12:00 to 1:00. The funeral service will be private. Face coverings and social distancing will be in practice. Private burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
