Bishop Amos Treherne, Jr.'s Obituary
Bishop Amos Treherne, Jr. earned his eternal reward on Sunday, July 24, 2011 upon his passing at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. He was 71.
He was born on June 15, 1940 in Bridgetown, Virginia the son of the late Amos T. Treherne, Sr. and Marie Satchell Treherne.
He served as Bishop to the parishioners of the Pentecostal House of Prayer in Concord, DE, He owned and operated Treherne Lawn Service. He enjoyed going fishing and loved his grandchildren dearly.
He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Betty Horsey Treherne, two sons, Leon Treherne and his wife, Debbie of Georgetown, Rick Camper and his wife, Jennifer of Laurel, a daughter, Betty Luke and her husband, John of Smyrna, 17 grandchildren, one great granddaughter, his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Roberts of Laurel, a brother-in-law, George Ames of Cape Charles, VA, and three nieces, Latoya, Carla, and Regina. He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Marie Ames and a niece, Francine Ames.
