Brandon Reed's Obituary
Brandon Reed of Federalsburg, Maryland tragically passed away on June 5, 2025 University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. He was 35 years old.
Born in Easton, Brandon was the son of Dervin Wert and Kathy Reed.
As a young man, Brandon loved to be outside. He loved to ride his bike and jump homemade ramps...with some bikes still sitting in the bottom of Smithville Pond. His four wheelers would be coated in mud, toy trucks and power wheel vehicles creating tracks in the yard and when he was old enough, he would take joy being in the woods and hunting. Glen Lane, who was like a father figure to him, introduced him to hunting and created a love for the activity.
Brandon attended Colonel Richardson High School, graduating with the class of 2008. From a young age, he participated in sports such as football, wrestling and baseball, but soccer was where he would shine. And it pleased him to pass down the love of the game to his son, Wyatt. He was a hard worker with a strong work ethic. Following in the steps of his pop-pop Norris, he was a farmer. He was a farmer for Stafford Farms since the age of 12. Over those years, he built a close relationship with the owners Jamie and Lori, lovingly calling them "Daddy" and "Mama Bear". Over the years when Brandon butted heads with "Daddy" and "Mama Bear", he would drive trucks, deliver sand, beer or run heavy equipment but he always found his way back to the farm where his heart was. Of all the jobs he had in his life, Brandon's favorite "job" was being a father.
When Brandon wasn't on the farm, you could find him hunting or fishing while listening to his favorite "Tear in My Beer" 90's country music. In recent years, he began 602 Sportsman Modified racing at local race tracks such as Delmar and Georgetown like many of his Reed family members. He was also a huge history buff. He had a special interest in learning his family's history and their genealogy. Brandon was always the life of the party and was never short on goofy, "dad" jokes. He always was sure to tell Wyatt, "You smell funny and your mother dresses you weird". Silliness aside, Brandon was intelligent, had a big, giving heart and would give you the shirt off of his back.
In addition to his parents Dervin Wert (Charlee) of Baltimore, MD and Kathy Reed (Will) of Huntly, VA, he is survived by his son, Wyatt Reed and his mother Stacey Clough of Denton; his sisters Kristen Lane (Tyler Conley) and Tallon Belcher (Timmie); his aunt Becky Reed of Federalsburg who helped raise him and thought of him as her own son; Casey Reed and her children Cameron and Chandler who thought of Brandon as a father of Federalsburg, MD; and several members of his extended family to cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Peggy Wert, Norris "Speedy" Reed and Shirley Lyden Reed
We will all miss his "Shit Eating Grin"....the grin that would melt your heart and no one will ever forget.
Funeral services for Brandon will be held Monday, June 16 at 12:00 at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg. A visitation will take place prior to the service at 10:00. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to Framptom Funeral Home (216 N. Main St., Federalsburg, MD/410-754-8888) to help defray unexpected funeral expenses.
