C. Carey Howard's Obituary
C. Carey Howard
Easton- C. Carey Howard, 61, of Easton, Md., passed away June 5, 2013. Carey was born May 30, 1952 to Jack and Ellen (Carey) Howard. He graduated from Easton High School in 1971. Carey’s work career spanned a number of very different jobs and businesses. He was an accomplished cook, working at a number of local restaurants in his early years and enjoyed cooking as a hobby. He worked as a watermen for a period of time, often teaming up with his wife, Lennora, working his clam rig in area waters. He and Lennora became the proprietors of Todd’s Market in Easton, Md. during the 1980’s, upholding the store’s reputation for high quality meats and customer service, while expanding the store’s offerings. Upon selling the business after 22 years, Carey “retired” and began his own lawn service, which he operated until his recent illness. He was an avid and skilled fisherman and was quick to share a fish story, especially about the ones that got away and the trophy fish that he landed. Each story began with his favorite saying, “Fish On.” In addition to fishing, Carey enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, gardening and visiting with friends. Carey is survived by his wife, Lennora, of 30 years and their two children, Lorna Greene and her husband, Jeff, of Boca Raton, Fl. and Richard Howard and his wife, Rachel, of Trappe, Md. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Chase and Tyler Greene and Brennan and Katelyn Howard; his brother Wayne Howard and his wife, Ginger, and several nephews and nieces, other close relatives and dear friends. Carey was preceded in death by his parents John A. (Jack) and Ellen C. Howard. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 8th at 11am at the Trinity Cathedral, 315 Goldsborough Street in Easton, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to: “Donations for Katelyn Howard”, c/o M & T Bank, 223 Glebe Road, Easton, Md. 21601. Arrangements are by the Ostrowski Funeral Home, St. Michaels, MD.
